Subliners roll in CDL Stage 4 Major's elimination bracket

Mandatory Credit: Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports The New York Subliners picked up two wins on Friday to advance to the third round of the elimination bracket at the Call of Duty League's Stage 4 Major in Burbank, Calif.
The Subliners beat the Minnesota Rokkr 3-1, then topped the Vegas Legion by the same score.
In their first match of the day, the Subliners won 250-116 on Vista Hardpoint, but the Rokkr responded with a 6-4 victory on Highrise Search and Destroy. New York took control from then on, winning 3-2 on Invasion Control and 250-181 on Karachi Hardpoint.
The Subliners jumped out to a quick lead against the Legion, taking Karachi Hardpoint 250-210 and Highrise Search and Destroy 6-3. Vegas bounced back with a 3-2 win on Highrise Control, but New York sealed the victory with a 250-204 win on Rio Hardpoint.
The four teams that lost their first-round matches in the upper bracket on Thursday all won their elimination-bracket openers on Friday.
The Toronto Ultra ousted the Carolina Royal Ravens 3-0, the Miami Heretics edged OpTic Texas 3-2, the Legion swept the Boston Breach 3-0 and New York got past Vegas.
The Ultra downed the Royal Ravens 250-151 on Karachi Hardpoint, 6-5 on Karachi Search and Destroy and 3-2 on Karachi Control.
After losing 250-183 on Sub Base Hardpoint, the Heretics won 6-3 on Invasion Search and Destroy and 3-0 on Highrise Control. OpTic battled back for a 250-233 victory on Rio Hardpoint but the Heretics had enough to take a 6-5 win on Karachi Search and Control.
The Legion didn't face much resistance against the Breach, taking 6 Star Hardpoint 250-203, Rio Search and Destroy 6-4 and Highrise Control 3-1.
The tournament, which ends Sunday, features a double-elimination format, with all matches best-of-five until the grand final, which is best-of-seven. The winner will get 100 CDL points and $150,000 of the $375,000 prize pool, while the runner-up will come away with 75 CDL points and $90,000.
